Delhi could be the national capital, while Mumbai would be the financial capital of India. So, quite obviously, we have a constant link between both the capitals. However, in the middle of that, enough time taken to travel between Delhi and Mumbai poses an exceptionally high concern. Travelling via NH-8, it requires close to a day from Delhi to Mumbai and the other way round. Keeping this planned, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways plus the National Highways Authority of India are already working on an expressway project between Delhi and Mumbai. The project, which has been finalized recording, is going to be commenced in March 2019.

The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is proposed to become a Greenfield project. A Greenfield project is where lands that do not effectively consist of any structure for being demolished can be used for the purpose of construction. This, in return, besides helps in a streamlined infrastructure, but is usually less hazardous to your environment.

The 1,250 km long expressway will probably be passing throughout the underdeveloped cities of Mewat, Ratlam and Dahod, and will probably be running over the states of Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra. The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will reduce travel time for you to 12 hours as opposed to 24, and is going to be allowing a speed limit of 120 kmph.

The plan for the expressway may be estimated around Rs 1 lac crore, along with the construction from the highway as being a Greenfield project has helped the Government economize by cutting costs by Rs 16000 to Rs 20000 crores. According to Shri Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, the land acquisition process with the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is making fast-track development. The land acquisition act of NHAI, 3A, was already processed in Haryana, and also the same has decided to be done in Rajasthan and Maharashtra by July 31. Once the process is complete, the expressway work begins simultaneously across 40 locations.
